In the midst of a global pandemic, a loved one fights for the right to say goodbye to their father, while a priest contemplates how, in our society, a grieving person is treated as if infected with a disease. The Helsinki burial services prepare for the unknown, yet, despite the exceptional times, they have to keep the gears turning. An essay film interweaves different voices faced with death in COVID-ridden Finland.
